A flexible flue register plate, also sometimes referred to as a closure plate, is a metal plate installed at the base of a chimney opening to seal off the chimney cavity, particularly when a flexible flue liner is used. Its primary purpose is to prevent debris from falling into the fireplace, reduce heat loss up the chimney, and create a neat, sealed connection between the stove pipe and the flue liner.
