Many areas have minimum heights for chimneys to ensure that the tops are higher than any air turbulence that may be in the surrounding area, you may need to build yours slightly higher than these regulations to ensure your chimney is not affected by the turbulence that may be caused by any nearby obstructions such as other houses.
